PermitsThe Fire Division is responsible for taking application and issuing permits for service station operation, underground tank installation and removal, fire lane designation, and large capacity tent installations, use of fire hydrants, and open burning.Though seemingly illogical, persons doing work on fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and cooking hood suppression systems must obtain their fire protection permit through the Department of Development. Applications for use (not installation or repair) of alarm systems are processed through the Police Division.
