Recycling Guidelines
Please note that recycling collection and guidelines have remained the same with the switch to Inland Service Corporation, effective Monday, April 7, 2008.
Recyclables are collected on your designated refuse collection day. Recyclables must be separated by type (papers and containers) and placed into separate bins (any bin less than 35 gallon capacity). Place bins next to the street before 7 a.m. for collection on your designated day.
Accepted Container Recyclables:
• Plastic bottles and jugs – rinsed, lids removed
• Glass bottles and jars – clear, green or brown, rinsed, lids and labels removed
• Beverage cans – rinsed, preferably flattened
• Metal food cans – rinsed, labels removed
• Metal aerosol cans – completely empty, caps and nozzles removed
• Aluminum/scrap foil – clean, no non-aluminum materials attached, less than two feet in any dimension
• Drink boxes – empty, straws removed
• Milk and juice cartons – rinsed
• Used motor oil – in closed plastic disposable jugs
Accepted Paper Recyclables
• Junk mail – except envelopes with plastic windows
• Office/school/computer paper – no staples or clips
• Newspapers and magazines – may be placed in brown paper grocery sacks or bundled with string
• Telephone directories – no hardback books
• Corrugated cardboard – (three visible paper layers) staples removed, flattened and bundled with string
• Chip board – cereal boxes, soap boxes, gift boxes, etc.
Automotive batteries may also be placed at the curb for recycling on collection day.
