Volunteer Recognition Luncheon
Volunteers are the Heart of the Community at the UA Senior Center. You help make our community a better place to live and to thank you for all the time that you give, you are cordially invited to attend a fabulous luncheon and recognition program as we honor over 14,000 hours of volunteer time. After lunch, enjoy the sounds of our own Jacks and Jills as they entertain us with wonderful music. Please sign up in the volunteer office if you were a 2007 volunteer. If you are a paying customer, please sign up in bldg 3.

90’s Tea
Celebrate your 90’s on the (almost) 90th day of the year. Join us for a reception in your honor at Dublin Retirement Village. Share a delightful lunch and a cup of tea. This annual event is for anyone 90 or older and anyone who will be turning 90 anytime in 2008. Dublin Retirement Village provides the transportation and picks us up at 10 am. We hope you celebrate your 90’s with us. Sign up in advance in Bldg 3 or call 583-5320 to make a reservation.

May Luncheon & Native American Flutes
This month welcome Mark “Thunderwalker” Camden providing a musical and educational performance. Mark displays several handmade flutes with a few cut in half to show us how he makes them as well as a musical performance featuring his flutes. Mark, was a music major at The Ohio State University. He writes and arranges music for his flute collection. Lunch menu includes: grilled marinated chicken and brats with fresh fruit, hot vegetable, potato and dessert.

Free Orchestra Concert
In recognition of Older Americans Month we are celebrating with the Cardinal Health Chamber Orchestra as it performs a special musical concert for us. This 45-piece orchestra, comprised of Cardinal employees, members from the community and surrounding businesses, plays your favorite light classical pieces and opera without words. This concert is free, however, pre-registration is required in Bldg 2. After the concert enjoy light refreshments.

Men’s Group
Tour Ohio Stadium
We are going behind the scenes at The Ohio Stadium. Walk the sidelines where Woody once roamed, where Archie made history and where the Buckeyes have battled since 1922. Experience the Yassenoff Recruit Center filled with pictures of current and former Buckeye greats. Travel up to the press box, where over 400 media personnel are seated for games, view one of the Huntington Suites, visit the Steinbrenner Band Center and explore other areas of the “Horseshoe” for a unique Buckeye experience. Enjoy lunch OYO at an area restaurant after the tour. Limited van transportation is available, carpooling is recommended. There is a large amount of walking involved in this outing.

June Luncheon & Abraham Lincoln
Mr. Stan Wernz, as Abraham Lincoln, shares his views on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Learn something new about this amazing historical figure. Lunch menu includes grilled burgers, brats, hot dogs, potato, fresh fruit, hot vegetable and dessert. Register in advance no later than Fri, Jun 6 in Bldg 3.

Singles Social
We travel to the Scioto Boat Club at Griggs Reservoir for a fun-filled afternoon. Enjoy lunch with the view of the river. After lunch, for those who would like, and weather permitting, we cruise the river by boat.
