NEW Biblical History
Learn more about the Bible from Genesis to Revelations through Barbara Strouse who has been studying for the past 12 years. Educated at Marietta College and Ohio University, Barbara holds an MA in Education and taught secondary science for 25 years. She uses multiple resources and maps to enhance the discussion. Participants should bring a New International Version Bible, NIV, preferably the Study Version. Class limited to eight participants.

Ed Lentz- Civil War
This series examines the American Civil War and how it changed America. Beginning with the background of the war, we look at each of the four critical years of the conflict. In addition to battles and leaders we also discuss diplomacy, life on the home front and the reconstruction that followed the war. [This series was first presented in the summer of 2005 and is back by request] Advance registration in Bldg 3.

This series will look at some of the major countries in Eastern Europe one week at a time. Each week we look at the history, culture and current status of one of the major countries in this part of the world. We also look at the role that “place” has played in the development of America.

Shakespeare Group
Discover the joy and relevance of the works of William Shakespeare. By reading aloud, using video and discussion, learn the nuances, jokes, double entendres and cultural influences, which made the Bard one of the greatest figures of literature. Join the study of Henry IV Part I. Instructor Brad Bradford teaches at Ohio Dominican and Franklin University and has led Shakespeare discussion groups for 12 years.

There is a wealth of database resources on the website as well. Join the UA Library for a demonstration of a few web based services in addition to the newest device, the Playaway.
