Woodcarvers
Imagine what you can do with your own two hands, some wood and a knife. Try your skills by joining our experienced carvers. Newcomers are welcome and encouraged to carve with the group. Established carvers bring projects to share and work on together.

Knit, crochet or tat, this friendly group works on individual projects or projects that benefit others. Everyone is welcome.

Quilters & Sewers
Learn from an experienced team of quilters. A quilting table and advice are available. Members consult and advise while working on individual projects.

Watercolor Workshop
Using 20 years teaching experience, Mindy Newman uses exercises to teach technique, color and composition. Sign-up in the staff office before class.

Stained Glass
Imagine light playing through brilliantly-colored glass shapes. From sun catchers to lamps and windows, choose a project that matches your imagination. In this studio format, you can learn stained glass techniques from peers to produce beautiful works of art. Equipment is available on site.

Creative Arts Event
This annual event allows adults 50 years of age and older to submit two pieces of original art for show and competition. Coordinated by Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, the show is held at the Martin Janis Senior Center May 14-21. Art intake at the Martin Janis Senior Center is Tue, Apr 29 from 10 am-2 pm. As a member of the UA Senior Center you can have your art transported to Martin Janis by turning in your art to Sally Gard’s office at the UA Senior Center on Tue, Apr 29 from 9 am-4 pm. You must tag the art, fill out a form and wrap the art for safe transport.

Art at the Center
Christie Lephart displays her watercolors in Bldg 2 during the month of April. Christie is a professional artist with a studio in her home. Ned Moore, an instructor at the Cultural Arts Center displays his watercolors and oils during the months of May and June. Stop in and enjoy the show.
