Teen Programs


American Sign Language for Teens
Ever wish you could talk with your mouth full? Interested in learning a beautiful, unique, 3-D language? Do you have a deaf neighbor, classmate, relative or friend? If so, learn American Sign Language (ASL) through fun and interactive activities. Students learn how to communicate in ASL at an informal level. Instruction is primarily conducted through sign language. Games, gestures, pictures, videos, articles and props are used to introduce students to ASL and Deaf culture. The class is taught by Emily LeGros who currently teaches ASL at OSU and Upper Arlington High School. She has more than 14 years experience signing.

ACT/SAT Boot Camp
College-bound students prepare for the ACT and/or the SAT in an intensive one-week workshop. Students learn the latest strategies for mastering every section of these entrance exams, honing their skills through rigorous mock tests and superior instruction. Each participant receives individualized feedback on practice essays, test results and the college admissions process. Packed lunch required for a 30-minute lunch break.

Paintball
Have you got what it takes to capture the flag without being shot by a barrage of paint? If you think you do, join us for a trip to Splatterpark and a day of fierce paintball games. Wear your best camouflage over clothes to wear home and a change of shoes. Don’t forget your friends whom you just can’t wait to splatter with paint! Cost includes a rental mask, paintball gun and 500 paintballs.

Family Camp Out
Grab the family and head to Thompson Park for our annual Family Camp Out, with games and lots of fun to be had for the whole family, along with a great “Movie in the Park” that night. The Outdoor Source is on hand to help set up tents. Tents are available upon request and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
