“A funny name but a valuable service” describes this popular camp.
Participants enjoy activities including active and quiet games, movies, library trips, visits from our arts and crafts specialists and swimming at Reed Road Water Park (pool pass required). Participants may bring a sack lunch and a snack.

Summer Day Camp
A safe and fun place for kids to spend their summer vacation.
The Summer Day Camp Programs run concurrently for 10 weeks at Thompson Park and Barrington Elementary School, providing a valuable service for families in which both parents work. Children enjoy a variety of activities including arts and crafts, games, quiet recreation, movies, swimming (pool pass required), library visits and field trips. Qualified leaders, at an approximate ratio of 15:1, staff the program. Participants should bring a packed lunch daily and an afternoon snack. Beverages are provided.

NW Kiwanis SNACK Camp
The Special Needs Activity Camp for Kids (SNACK), who are of elementary school age, joins the Barrington Summer Day Camp Program for various activities, field trips and lunch times to provide an inclusive setting, as well as independent activities to accommodate participants’ needs. SNACK campers enjoy a variety of weekly themed activities including swimming (pool pass required), outdoor recreation, sports, games, arts and crafts, quiet recreation, movies and field trips.
Participants must possess independence in personal care of toileting, dressing and eating, or must be accompanied by their own aide at family expense. All campers are expected to follow staff direction and camp rules with minimal prompting. A sack lunch must be packed daily and include an afternoon snack, beverages are provided. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Staff consists of students specializing in special education, adapted physical education, or sport and leisure study. The staff-to-participant ratio is 1:3. Teen+ SNACK Camp
Teen+ Special Needs campers enjoy a variety of weekly themed activities, including swimming (pool pass required), outdoor recreation, sports, games, arts and crafts, quiet recreation, movies and weekly field trips. Wednesday field trips are with typical day camp and elementary SNACK. Thursday field trips visit various venues (Ohio Stadium, Santa Maria, etc) while learning how to use the COTA bus system.
Staff consists of students specializing in special education, adapted physical education, or sport and leisure study. The staff to participant ratio is 1:3.
The goals of Teen+ SNACK are to provide various experiences that teach skills, such as peer interaction and daily living skills. These skills are taught through a variety of activities that foster confidence building and independence in a fun environment.
Participants must possess independence in personal care of toileting, dressing and eating, or must be accompanied by their own aide at family expense. All campers are expected to follow staff direction and camp rules with minimal prompting.
A sack lunch must be packed daily and should include an afternoon snack, beverages are provided. Transportation provided for Wednesday field trips only.
Registration is limited to a minimum of six, with a maximum of nine participants per one-week session. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pre-School Mini Day Camp
Your preschooler can now experience all the fun and excitement of our Summer Day Camp program with our weeklong mini-camp. We play games with day camp staff and get to know other future day campers. Not your ordinary Sporties for Shorties program, this four-day mini-camp includes track and field, big hoop basketball, water balloon Olympics, football, tee-ball and soccer. Preschoolers learn coordination, social interaction, how to follow simple instruction, and to JUST HAVE FUN! Join us for this outdoor adventure. Soccer Camp
The UA Recreation Division is partnering with the NCSL Eagles to bring youth soccer camp in Upper Arlington to a new level. Offering more than 50 years of soccer experience, Andrew Kessinger and the Eagles coaching staff guarantees a fun and exciting training experience. Kinder Tots through Soccer Stars learn the game through a program of skill-building exercises along with fun activities and games. The half-day camp offers a skill development session and concludes with competitive game type training during the second portion of camp. Participants receive a soccer ball and camp T-shirt. Campers should bring a water bottle daily. Half-day camp participants should bring a packed lunch.

Summer ARTventure Camp
Again this year, the Columbus College of Art & Design and UA Recreation Division have joined hands in a dynamic partnership. Summer ARTventure is designed to engage students in a variety of art activities and explorations. Students develop projects that instill technical skills and familiarity with processes and materials. Drawing, painting, sketchbook journaling, mixed media, and three-dimensional designs are all a part of this exciting week. While skills and media investigations are stressed, creativity is celebrated. Camp includes instruction, supplies, snacks, drinks and FUN! Session B participants must have some prior art exploration experience and should bring a packed lunch daily. Both sessions include an art exhibition for the last hour of the last day of camp showcasing your child’s work.

Learn basic cheerleading skills and fundamentals in this fun cheerleading mini-camp. Participants learn proper warm-up, the importance of flexibility, chants, cheers, motions and jumps. Heather Williams, founder and owner of Midwest Panther Allstar/Performing Arts Group, directs the camp along with her Midwest Panther cheer staff. Each session is age/skill based. Tennis shoes and comfortable clothing required. Participants should bring a clean white t-shirt the first day of camp and a water bottle daily. A camp showcase for parents is held the last 45 minutes on the last day of camp.

English Style Horseback Riding Summer Camp
Saddle up and learn horseback riding basics, as well as husbandry skills such as grooming and tacking up your mount. Liberty Farm offers quality school horses where you learn in a fun, safe environment. Participants receive instructional riding lessons along with horsemanship and handling skills. This camp prepares young riders to handle their horse on their own. Let your aspiring equestrians learn the right way to ride from experienced, qualified professionals. Please wear long pants. Bring a bicycle helmet or appropriate headgear.

BIX KICKS Upper Arlington Soccer Camp
Curt Bixel, Upper Arlington High School boys' varsity soccer coach, directs BIX KICKS soccer camp for boys interested in learning new and exciting soccer skills. This fun, instructional camp is comprised of two days of special goalkeeper training by SuperKick and individual skill instruction including dribbling, passing, shooting, ball control and defending taught by Coach Bixel and UAHS coaches and players. Camp also features full field games and tactical training based on the Dutch 4 v 4 model, ensuring every participant actively puts new skills into each training session. Dancing Divas Camp
Let your child learn the basics, gauge interest and get excited about dance in this beginning dance class. Basic ballet positions are taught along with some hip hop moves (basic popping and locking) and a few jazz technique fundamentals thrown in. This is a great camp for children who have an interest and would like to learn the basics before committing to a long-term dance program. Participants learn proper warm-up and the importance of flexibility in their dance routines. Heather Williams, founder and owner of Midwest Panther Allstar/Performing Arts Group directs the camp along with her dance staff. Each session is age/skill based. Comfortable clothing required. Ballet shoes are required, and tights and a leotard are preferred for ease of movement. Participants should bring a clean white t-shirt the first day of camp and a water bottle daily. A camp showcase for parents is held the last 45 minutes on the last day of camp.
