Gene Gilliom holds a BA in history from Heidelberg College and both an MA and a PhD in Social Studies Education from The Ohio State University. He worked as a professor at The Ohio State University from 1966 to 1995. Gilliom has also taught at the University of Chicago, San Francisco State College, and Cleveland Public Schools. He is the author of several books and has organized and led over 50 international study tours.
