As a busy mother of three, Lisa found herself balancing the demands of time against the ability to provide a variety of healthy meals. After her first son was born in 2001 she started a monthly “cookfest” with friends to prepare meals that they stored in their freezers to cook for their families. In addition to saving time and money by planning ahead for their meals, they had fun assembling the meals together. She knew it could be a business since they all had different family sizes. As she searched for a franchise, she realized that she wanted to open independently so she could provide fresh, healthy meals with large portions and side dishes.
