Below is a summary of projects in the planning stages for 2005 or that have been successfully completed since 1999.2005 - Tentative Plans - Install new parking lot lighting in Thompson Park - Complete pathway repaving in Fancyburg Park - Construct two new fields and a shelter for Burbank Fields at Northwest Park - Build a pathway around Northwest Park/Burbank Fields - Install a playground in Northwest Park - Continue the park sign replacement program - Seal pathways and parking lots - Rebuild the parking lot and pathways at Northam Park - Paint the tennis fences at all Parks - Renovate the Mallway Park - Replace the roof on the Thompson Park south shelter - Build a new gazebo in Miller Park, with the financial help of the UA Rotary and Tri-Village Rotary - Resurface the tennis courts at Langston Park - Install one new City Gateway, at a location to be determined - Replace the Municipal Services Center water meter pit and irrigation system 2004 - Repaved the pathways at Thompson Park - Renovated the restrooms and replaced the garage doors at the Reed Road Park shelter - Replaced old park signs with new limestone/bronze signs - Installed new City Gateways at Kenny Road and Fishinger Road, and at Lane Avenue and Riverside Drive (made possible by a grant of $10,000 from the Upper Arlington Community Foundation) - Completed wall capping and renovation of landscape walls at the Municipal Services Center - Renovated the garage at Fancyburg Park 2003 - Rebuilt the tennis courts at Fancyburg Park - Replaced playground equipment at Miller Park - Replaced lighting at the Northam Tennis Complex - Installed new backstops and fences at ball fields in Reed Road Park, Northwest Park, and Thompson Park 2002 - Replaced the roof and repainted buildings at the Northam Tennis Complex - Replaced the roof on the north shelter at Thompson Park - Rebuilt ball field #2 at Reed Road Park - Replaced all playground equipment at Oxford Park - Replaced school-aged playground equipment at Thompson Park - Installed new backstops and fences on four ball fields at Northam Park - Replaced the lights at Reed Road Park - "Old Timers Field" - Replaced playground equipment at Reed Road Park - Installed a skate park at Reed Road Park 2001 - Replaced preschool-aged playground at Thompson Park - Replaced all playground equipment at Westover Park - Remodeled the facades on two shelters at Thompson Park and one at Fancyburg Park - Installed irrigation and lighting in the Thompson Courtyard at the Senior Center - Replaced the fitness trail equipment at Thompson Park 2000 - Converted a utility building to a shelter in Westover Park - Built a new shelter in Northwest Park with the help of Northwest Kiwanis - Built two bocce courts at the Senior Center - Replaced preschool-aged playground at Fancyburg Park - Sealed asphalt parking lots and pathways in parks 1999 - Recolored the surface of the Langston Park tennis courts - Installed a water meter pit at Northam Park - Renovated the house at Fancyburg Park - Replaced the playground at Northam Park Updated 1/05 Parks & Forestry Division Parks & Recreation Department City of Upper Arlington 3600 Tremont Road Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221 Phone: 614-583-5340 |
