Cardiff Woods

The City of Upper Arlington Cultural Arts Division is pleased to announce the most recent enhancement of Cardiff Woods Park between Cardiff Road and Berkshire Road. Enjoy the newly installed artful granite stone entryway featuring a haiku by local artist Yvonne Hardenbrook. This valued intimate park on the City’s Southside has recently been the focus of the Parks & Recreation Strategic Task Force and now enjoys enhancements conceived through a partnership of the Cultural Arts and Tree Commissions.

Located in Southeast Upper Arlington, Cardiff Woods is a 1.9 acre wooded lot enjoyed as a natural wooded lot with plants and trees native to Ohio. The natural state of the park has remained within the residential development of the surrounding area since 1924, when it was dedicated to the city. Through the initiation of the Parks and Recreation Strategic Task Force, the Upper Arlington Cultural Arts and Tree Commissions collaborated to improve the park while maintaining the natural habitation through creative enhancements. Explore newly- mulched paths, sit on installed granite benches and logs and now traverse the granite stone entryway while enjoying this oasis in one of the oldest developments of Upper Arlington.

Art in Community Spaces
The Cultural Arts Division strives to enrich the quality of life of the community through providing art in community spaces. Such art has enabled people in all societies to better understand their communities and individual lives.

The Cultural Arts Division accepts a responsibility for expanding public experience with visual art through the natural and architectural landscape of the community.

Arts in Community Spaces seeks to promote and provide opportunities for artists through unique partnerships; such as Art in Work Spaces, an art-lending program with city businesses, and partnerships with Parks to incorporate art in public parks and common areas.

The Cultural Arts Commission has set itself the goal of providing the community with educational, interactive, temporary art experiences at a variety of public venues in the next three years.
