Upper Arlington Snow Removal Services
The City of Upper Arlington provides one of the best snow removal services in Central Ohio, with the aim of returning normal driving conditions to all City streets within 24 hours of the end of a snowstorm. Priority is placed in the following order:

• Arterial Streets – the City’s main thoroughfares. They will continue to receive priority treatment while a storm continues.

• Collector Streets – these consist of the next level of streets that carry a lot of traffic to the main streets. Collector streets will be plowed and salted as soon as arterial streets have been completed.

• Residential Streets – all remaining streets within the City. Plowing will take place when snowfall exceeds three inches.

Visit www.ua-ohio.net, under “Resident Services” for details and a complete list of “arterial” and “collector” streets in the City. Or, contact the Streets Division, at 583-5380.

Tips on House Numbering
Upper Arlington residents are asked to ensure their home numbers are easily identifiable, to enable police and fire crews to locate a residence quickly in an emergency.

House numbers (using Arabic numbers) should be in a conspicuous place and be a minimum of three inches in height. Ideally, such numbers should be placed in a way that they won’t be obscured by heavy snows or leaf piles during the leaf collection season, so that they are visible at all times. The best location is to place numbers on the front elevation of the primary structure (house or office).

If you have any questions, please contact Code Compliance, at 583-5070.

"Valuing our Community Partners" - Upper Arlington's 2007 State of the City Address
The City of Upper Arlington invites you to attend its annual State of the City Address on Monday, January 22, 2007 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Services Center, 3600 Tremont Road. City Manager Virginia Barney will give her annual Address to the community, providing a review of the past 12 months and a look ahead to upcoming projects.

In celebration of the “Valuing Our Community Partners” theme, the City’s three key community partners will also participate in the Address - the Upper Arlington Schools, the Upper Arlington Libraries and the Upper Arlington Area Chamber of Commerce.

Each organization is unique, a result of its own purpose for being, the framework within which it operates, and the people who bring it to life. This holds true for the four main entities that work hard to serve our community – the City, the Schools, the Library system and the Chamber of Commerce. While each approaches its core mission from its own unique set of parameters, all four share the common bond of community service. While each may serve different segments of the population, all work for the overall health and success of the greater community.

No State of the City Address is complete without the City’s Community Awards program, recognizing those citizens who have made significant contributions to Upper Arlington in the past year. The 2006 awards will be presented in the following categories: Business of the Year; Community Enrichment; Community Safety; Super Senior; Youth.

As always, guests will be able to register to win a one-year supply of refuse stickers among other prizes. Light refreshments will also be served.

Don’t miss your opportunity to learn first-hand about the fine community in which we live and work. Join us for this year’s State of the City Address and Community Fair.
