Each year at the City’s State of the City Address, a series of Community Awards are presented to individuals and groups who have made a significant contribution to the community during the previous year. This year’s Address, scheduled for Monday, January 28, 2008 will again continue this tradition.
The 2007 Community Awards will be presented in the following categories:

Community Enrichment - The Community Enrichment Award is presented to an individual or group that has spearheaded or is actively involved in a project or program that enhances the City’s quality of life. Such programs can be in a variety of areas, including the arts, education, recreation, cultural diversity and enhancement of the natural environment.
Community Safety - The Community Safety Award is presented to an individual or group actively involved in programming to raise awareness of or improve the overall health and safety of members of the community, or for a significant one-time act to help others in the community during their moment of need.
