Be a part of the art at the Upper Arlington Arts Festival Art Activities Area. Every year new and exciting opportunities are provided for all ages, with age appropriate designated hands-on activities in individual booths. Create both artwork for donation and artwork you can take home. Patrons are encouraged to make their mark on the art. Each art activity is categorized by age appropriate level.
We are excited to have a diverse group of artists providing a variety of ways to be creative at the 2009 Labor Day Arts Festival. Here's a sneak peak at what you can expect this year:
Community Installation Project
Benefitting Nationwide Children’s Hospital
Use felting techniques to create a community art installation project with local artists Suanne Goings and Phyllis Cantaria
Sculpture project inspired by Louise Nevelson's Sky Cathedral: Night Wall,
with local artists Aaron Thomas and Larry Cantaria
Interactive Theater Activities with performer Candace Mazur
Seed Landscapes with local artist Freda Abbott-Ayodele
Puff Paint T-Shirts with local artist Keturah Bobo
Recycled Jewelry with local artist Eric Marlow
Drum Making and Drumming Circle with musicians Jubal Harris and Ron Hope
Glass Blowing with Glass Axis Artist Heidi Schmenk
Embellished Book Treasure Boxes with artist Juliann Breeding
Recycled Snapdragon Yard Art Project with City of Upper Arlington staff
Decorated Art Bags with City of Upper Arlington staff
Art Books with Pauline King from OSU James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute
"Create a new animal species" Illustration with Cat Sheridan from Columbus College of Art and Design
