House Bill 9, passed by the Ohio General Assembly in 2007, strengthens these laws and charges the Office of the Attorney General with ensuring Ohio public officials understand these provisions. It requires that a model public records policy be provided to all public offices, and that they must in turn adopt a formal policy for complying with the Public Records Act. The Attorney General's Model Public Records Policy can be viewed at www.ag.state.oh.us/publicrecords. If you have questions, call 1-877.AG-4-OHIO, or email publicrecords@ag.state.oh.us. Requesting Public Records from the City Residents may request any public record from the City Clerk’s Office during regular business hours, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A form, though not required, is available by clicking here, and in hard copy format in the City Clerk’s Office to help clarify what is being requested. Your records request will be fulfilled in a reasonable amount of time. To avoid charges, many documents are available online on this Web site. Exempt records that are available online shall be charged in accordance with this schedule if printed copies are requested. If the records are stored off-site, the requestor will be charged the actual cost of pickup/delivery (exclusive of labor). Contact the City Clerk’s Office at 614-583-5030 if you have any questions.
