Sister City

Upper Arlington’s Sister City is the beautiful, ancient city of St. Andrews, Scotland, “The home of golf” and Gateway to the Kingdom of Fife.

St. Andrews, named after patron saint of Scotland, has a rich history, world famous golf courses, and ancient ruins that attract thousands of tourists each year. The “Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews” is home to the British Golf Museum, and hosted the first British open in 1873 and most recently in 1995 for the 25th time. Known as the Old Course, it is part of the St. Andrews Links, which also includes the New, Jubilee, Eden, Balgove and Strathtyram courses. The Royal Burgh of St. Andrews is also home to the ruins of the largest cathedral in Scotland, the oldest university in Scotland, a ruined castle, ancient monasteries, Mary Queen of Scots’ House and much more. Visit St. Andrews website to find out more about our sister city.
