Message from Mayor and City Manager

The City of Upper Arlington is pleased to provide the 2008 edition of the Resident Guide for use by the community. The primary goal of this publication is to provide you with a comprehensive overview of your local City governance and the services and facilities available to you, as well as many other useful community resource lists.

Check here first for details of the impressive City services we are proud to provide to you throughout the year, such as Police and Fire safety services, free leaf collection and one of the best snow removal services in Central Ohio. If you are looking for details of your neighborhood parks or the recreation facilities and programming available to you, we have provided here a detailed summary of our exceptional Parks & Recreation services. We also provide details of miscellaneous services such as meeting room rentals, older adult services, the petition process for streetlights, sidewalks and curbs and gutters, and more.

Reflective of City Council’s recent decision to privatize Solid Waste Services effective April 7, 2008, we have included a comprehensive overview of the transition in services, which promise to provide our community with a cost conscious, environmentally friendly approach that provides residents with service options and the opportunity to manage what they spend on their solid waste.

To complete the guide’s value to the community, we include details of City ordinances that apply to residents, lists of City contacts, miscellaneous area service organizations and more.

We hope you find the Upper Arlington Resident Guide invaluable in the coming months.
