2007 Tour of Historic Homes and Gardens

On September 9 we conducted our 2007 Home and Garden Tour to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Upper Arlington Company

Attendees were able to discover the charm of Upper Arlington by walking through the first floors of five historically significant homes in the Historic District.

Included on the tour were the homes Upper Arlington founders Ben and King Thompson built for themselves, which have rarely been open to the public. Three additional Historic District homes were open where the owners seamlessly blend early elegance and new style, with spectacular results. Unique art was placed in the gardens through a partnership with the Cultural Arts Commission and Friends of the Arts.

As a bonus, there was a docent from the Ohio Preservation Office at the Richards House, formerly known as the dam keeper's house at Griggs Reservoir, on Riverside Drive, who told people about one of the oldest homes in Franklin County.

Following are photos of the houses which were on the tour.
