Upper Arlington Historical Society

The Upper Arlington Historical Society seeks to enhance the quality of life in Upper Arlington by discovering, preserving, promoting and celebrating the community’s history.

Founded in 1976 as a not-for-profit volunteer organization, the Society collects archival materials, shares historical information, conducts educational programs, sponsors commemorative activities, promotes historic preservation, and serves as a community resource.

Our members are involved in informative and fun community activities. We promote and share UA history with residents, students, community groups and others through school programs, walking tours, a homes tour, continuing education programs, displays, special events, and other educational efforts. We honor, celebrate and memorialize important people, places and events in the community’s history through our annual Wall of Honor program and other commemorative activities.

We’re also concerned with discovering and preserving UA history. We work with residents and organizations to collect artifacts, record histories, and document important events in the community so that they can be catalogued and preserved in the Society’s archives. We promote historic preservation throughout the community through education and communication programs, and work to preserve the community’s place on the National Register of Historic Places.

We’re continuously charting the Society’s growth by improving our services, programs and profile as well. We’re growing our membership while working to better serve our current members. We’re sharing information about our programs and activities through an active community relations effort that includes producing publications like the Society’s newsletter and web site, coordinating special events, and working with other community groups. And we’re engaged in fundraising activities to generate additional financial support for our programs and activities.

The Upper Arlington Historical Society wishes to thank the City of Upper Arlington for helping prepare and providing space for the Society's web pages.
